Poolside Retreat

Artistic Gardenscapes designed and built the swimming pool and water features of this home near White Rock Lake as a calm, soothing oasis surrounded by a peaceful garden. A comfortable weathered bench offers a restful spot to enjoy in the sound of the rushing water, the scent of the Julia Child roses in the background, and the vivid colors of the cannas when they are in bloom. A mass of horsetail reeds and a stone Buddha make another restful spot in the garden. The concept of “enclosure” is important in a Japanese garden, so Artistic Gardenscapes created a horizontal fence with clean lines and breathing space between the boards to increase air circulation in our hot Dallas summers.
