Drought Tolerant Xeriscaping
In this garden for a corner lot, we created a garden that is bursting with color and thoroughly tolerant of the scorching summers. A drought tolerant garden need not be limited to desert plants. It’s also populated with bright blue larkspur, bright red salvia greggii, tall purple coneflowers, and Jerusalem sage with its quirky yellow blooms. With a minimum of water, we created the look and feel of a riverbed with stones and horsetail reeds. A large outdoor room is sheltered by a horizontal fence of narrow cedar planks, spaced to allow for a breeze.
